June 2026

Dear Gardening Friends,

NORMANDY TOUR 2027

As it warms to over 30° this week in Normandy in France, I am spending quiet times inside in the daytime. Perfect for writing and planning my tour of Normandy for early June next year, 2027.

I would love to share some of my favourite parts of Normandy with you. This is our eleventh year in our home where we spend three months each year and so I have got to know the region quite well. The tour would include garden visiting, spending time in picturesque villages, some brocante shopping, market shopping  and local cuisine experiences.

The features of my tours are that we travel at a leisurely pace, there is plenty of time for individuals to do their own thing and visits aren’t rushed. I will take an experienced Assistant Leader.

I organised and lead tours to European countries over many years, have had a long rest, and the passion is there again to provide a lovely experience for people. I thoroughly enjoy creating and sharing wonderful experiences for people. I developed a well-established clientele over past years but of course I need to re-establish this list as many of my former travellers are no longer travelling. Of course, I am older now but I still have the passion.

The tour will be land based but you can also arrive from New Zealand and join us immediately, or fly home at the end of the tour.

If you think this would interest you or a friend or family member please register your interest by contacting me by email. There is no commitment at this point. It just means that you will receive the flyer.

Photo 1: A few days ago we went to Jardin Plume which has a very good nursery and I bought some plants for the garden here. They included bronze fennel, pale lilac veronicastrum, and the light blue form of Catanache caerula, often called the paper daisy.

Photo 2: A lovely surprise this year was that red poppies have found their way to one part of my garden. Some of the other things growing in this section will be finding their way out!

Photo 3: My garden is developing nicely after many years of work, thought and change to a very different soil type, climate type now as heatwaves are usual each summer, and being here for three months a year. We have had some help with heavier work at times but otherwise manage it ourselves.

Photo 4: The famous cliffs at Etretat that Ron and I visited two years ago. Many of the Impressionist painters painted here and there are beautiful gardens to visit on the hill.

So, if you’d like to come on this charming journey with me through Normandy, please email me to register interest.

On another note the tour to Tasmania this October is almost full booked. I’ll take a maximum of twenty-five people.

Best wishes to you all,

Margaret
